Followed a link on Yahoo to a Purina pet food site with a collection of videos about animals. That is pretty cool. I liked this video about rescuing wildlife from a vending machine. Hope the critters end up having a better life elsewhere.

New Modem

I guess the modem in my HP PC has quit working. I could not get on the internet yesterday at all. So I tested everything and the laptop gets online. By process of elimination, it must be the modem has blown up.

I went to SAMs Club and found a new modem that hooks up through a port and it was only about $30. It plugs into the front of the PC and worked right away. So that’s fixed.

I know the weather in March is a little whacky. But I’m sick of the cold temps and the rain rain rain rain rain. We have puddles in our yard that have been constant since January. I’m surprised there’s not fish in those mini ponds by now! Seriously! Bring on the Spring that the groundhog promised us a month ago!

Lone Wolf

I guess there is a reason for the phrase, “Lone Wolf.”

I think I would rather be the wolf than the sheep. I’m never happy in crowds. And I’m not one to follow unquestioningly, either. So if I could choose, I would choose the wolf.

Shelter Puppy

There was an ad on the radio today from the local human society about adopting a dog. I hadn’t thought about it much, but the DJ talked about a puppy that no one had wanted to adopt and the shelter can only keep un adopted dogs for a certain time. If no one adopted this puppy today, they were going to have to put it down. The DJ described her as adorable, affectionate, loyal, and already housebroken.

For some reason it was like the puppy was calling to me to come save her, so I turned the car around and headed to the shelter and picked her up. I had to pay $150 for her shots and the neutering, and I stopped by the pet store on the way home to buy another $50 worth of food and a couple toys, a leash and a collar.

So now I have a new best friend who is happy to see me when I get home and she keeps me company all night. It’s great.

The Animal Planet

The one channel that I find myself watching more and more is The Animal Planet which isn’t surprising considering that I consider myself to be animal lover by nature and am thankful that I was fortunate enough to be able have several animals in my childhood in which to learn by and care for. Hence the house full of critters that I share my home with currently.

The Animal Planet always has something on that is educational and entertaining, they have a good mixture of happy stories and unfortunately plenty that are tearjerkers and break my heart to have to watch and listen to the atrocities that have fallen on many of god’s creatures big and small.
